The old Mill is a restaurant. Maybe you have it mixed up with another place?
Great atmosphere. Good food. Good service. A bit of a wait
Food was amazing and the service was excellent! The Sambuca shrimp was so delicious!
This place is excellent! Food is great, service was super and I can't wait to go again!
Casual atmosphere and the best steak I've had in years. Everything was full of flavor, the steaks were cooked to perfection and were so full of flavor my husband didnt use steak sauce(says a ton if you knew him). Butternut squash soup served routine style, French bread with honey butter ... everything was so good. They said they are open year round ... definitely worth the drive.
The food was fantastic and fresh! Quick and friendly service! You can sit inside or out, beautiful both sides. I had bourbon glazed salmon and my partner had the steak cooked the way he likes it!
Everything was fabulous, from appetizers (chicken wings and lobster tacos) to entrees (burgers and steak). The fresh potato chips were a surprise. Don't miss those.
We had the pleasure of meeting Adam at the bar this evening. It was such a comfortable and inviting atmosphere we decided to eat dinner there. Tonight was the Wednesday prime rib special. Simply delicious meal! We hadn’t visited the The Mill in several years. Litttle did we know what a wonderful experience it would be! I highly recommend giving them a try!
This restaurant has been a favorite as far back as I can remember. It was closed last summer and has since reopened. I was excited to see the owner working on the premises, which means ownership is local once again. Great food; good size portions; friendly staff. I will definitely go back!
So Ill start by saying the food looked great and our experience stopped there. We started off with a 30 minute wait, not bad so we went to the bar for a drink. Now the place wasn’t busy at all. The floor had open tables all over the place but were told the kitchen was behind. We then sat at the bar for 10 minutes before being asked if we wanted anything to drink. We were never followed up with or asked if we wanted another drink. Its now been over an hour so I went and checked in and was rudely told they in-fact didn’t even have a cook on staff. She couldn’t tell me when we would be sat or if we would even get our food. My wife and I left as did 6 other parties and went someplace else. Id like to offer some advice. If your food tastes as good as it looks you have a great thing going but if you don’t replace your staff you’ll be closed by this time next year.
Thank you again for an amazing meal. Wishing you the best during this difficult time.
My husband and I were in Old Forge snowmobiling this week. We heard that the Old Mill, now The Mill, was under new ownership and decided to give it a try. Food was excellent, wait staff was excellent. The original Old Mill was very good, but then went downhill. This owner is just as good as the original. They have the soup tureen, which by the way, was excellent. They do only have a single salad, but I really prefer that anyway. The salad dressings were great. Can't say enough good about it. Look forward to going back.
Great place to eat! Beautiful atmosphere! Great service!
What a nice clean place. Outside eating drew is in,but the inside was so charming too. Wife raved about the fish tacos and I really enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich. They even satisfied my IPA craving with a NEIPA brewed by Fiddleback. Service was attentive and prompt. Don't drive by it like we almost did. Go and enjoy.
An annual trip to Old Forge, been here a few times... Nothing to write home about. Service was slow and the menu a bit expensive for the offerings. The server was nice but the food took forever... had a $16 burger that compares to a good burger at Wendy's. Again, If you want to charge the price, you need to put up good products. Seems to be common in this little BS tourist town... overpriced garbage shoved down the throat of tourists who otherwise have no other options for MILES, so they get shafted by the local establishments. Will grill my own next year.
I went here on vacation 7/27/19 and sat down after waiting because there was no one there. We didn’t know that you had to get your own menu and seat yourself. Then we sat for 15 minutes before even being acknowledged by the waitress. Then it took 5 minutes for her to come back and take our drink orders. We waited for another 5 minutes to get our drinks. Then 15/20 to order our food. I ordered a burger without blue cheese and I saw her write it down. The 40 minutes later she brings out our food and I look inside the burger and see blue cheese. So I sent it back then 10 minutes later she came with the bill still with the burger on it. We said we gave it back and the she said “oh yeah I could take that off the bill” as if she was clueless about what happened. Terrible service! There were other people there who ordered drinks and then were waiting so long they walked away.
I love this restaurant. The food is very good. The service is great. The interior has a homey touch and is very "Adirondack style"
This was my first time back since the new owners opened back up. The food was great so was the service. Let me say that it is awesome to see two people take a shot and open a new business nevertheless a hard business like operating a restaurant! Good luck keep up the hard work
Left after 1.5 hours and only getting bread. And the place was half full ! Good looking menus. Out of most of it a 7 pm will never go back again
Stopped in twice last week during our vacation. First time on our kayaks and the second time with the whole family. Both times were very good and we would've gone again if we had more time. From what I understand they are under new ownership and have a few new unique menu items that were worth stopping in for - including the deep fried deviled eggs!!
Fantastic food and staff. Great watching sunset over the water.
One of the worst lunches ever! Remember, two kids two adults $ 70.00. No a alcohol, coffee and soda. First waiting too long to sit down, waiting for a waitress, coffee was ice cold. Then waitress was gone forever. Was thing of leaving, should have left. Everything went down hill for there. Poor service at best, food was second rate, was not worth the money. I gave my waitress 7.00 tip on a 70.00 meal. I will say it was the worst meal I have had this year. We go out to eat at least every two weeks if not more often. Not waist your time or money!
Service was extremely slow. What they saved in wages by only having three people on the floor, they lost in gratuity and return business.I had an old fashioned and my wife had a Long Island ice tea. We both agreed they were the worst we had every had.The only bright spot of this experience was the food. It was good, but for the price wasn't a good value. Two entrees, two cocktails, and three kids meals ran us $100.My wife joked on the first night of our arrival that the FastTrak across the street had better reviews. Now we know why.
Scotti is the best server ever! She makes the best homemade deserts! She also doubles as a cab driver part time only and by appointment! The mill is amazing make sure you stop there the next time you’re on old forge
The Mill has brought the food back to the glory days. Go there Saturday's on prime rib night and you wont be disappointed. Deep fried devil eggs are a unique appetizer that hits the spot, and the drink selection will keep everyone in your party happy.
Horrible food and service, pub was cold then super chewy after we sent it back
Not the same Old Mill!!! They don’t take reservations. Terrible service! They were serving prime rib so we decided to wait the 40 minutes. After 1 hour the hostess came back to see who was still there who was on the list. She told us we would be next and there was still prime rib. After another half hour (don’t know why we even waited that long) I went to her to complain about the unreasonable wait. She looked confused and asked the name. When I told her, she apologized over and over and told us we could sit now. I believe she forgot about us. When we went back there were a lot of empty tables. We got seated and when the waitress finally came to our table and we told her we wanted prime rib, she told us they just announced there was no more prime rib. We told her about our situation and left! Another restaurant down the street seated us right away, and they had delicious prime rib and they take reservations!!!
Great service, food was amazing. Several food options. Dinner menu offers seven appetizers, three salads, ten entrèes, Friday night sea food buffet, and four desert options along with a small children's menu. Nice relaxing out door seating and a large dinning area.
Good food, good service, the Salmon dinner was excellent! Our waitress Scotti was awesome! Will definitely dine again next time we’re there!
Nice place. Good food. Very slow service. If you're looking to relax and take your time, perfect.
Beautiful views of the moose river, friendly owners, good beer on tap
Feb 1, 2020. Just finished dinner. Wow.. That's an understatement. Great service, great food. Glad to be back. Nice job all. Thank you.
Menus has changed (sad)
Had a fantastic meal with my family! Loved the food, the service and atmosphere! The pulled pork and macaroni was 5 stars!!!!! The cake too :)
Just had a great lunch on a beautiful afternoon. The service was great, the staff really nice, and the food was excellent. This kitchen doesn't skimp on ingredient quality. Will definitely eat here again!!!
Picked up some phenomenal food (fish fry and bacon burger), staff was pleasant. Appreciate the great meal while still under quarantine rules.
Excellent...varied menu. Food fresh and tasty. Wonderful casual setting.
Poorest service. The hostess is too busy busing tables. She seems frazzled. The wait staff seems very stressed. We had to wait at our table 20min. We never got our salad. I had to hunt down the hostess To get my bill. I politely complained to both the server and the hostess. They said and offered nothing. We will not return. Didn't even get a have a nice evening. As the 3 of us left the hostess kept her head down and said nothing.
After snowmobiling all day, we were looking for a good meal. The Mill did not disappoint. Great meal, great atmosphere and great service! The soups, homemade salad dressings and main entrees all had excellent flavor. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely delightful. The deserts are amazing. Best customer service and amazing experience.
We were greeted as soon as we walked in, our server was awesome. The food was amazing and highly recommend that you go.
The food was pretty good. Highly recommend the Ranch Fries for an appetizer. However, for a Wednesday evening and a sparse dining room and deck, the service was slow. The host seemed frazzled just taking our drink order and all the servers acted like they had full stations. Our server did check on us twice but after waiting 20 minutes for the check at the table, had to have the host track her down and waited another 10 minutes to pay.
One of my favorite restaurants ever! The soup tureen is huge. It's a pot of soup! No where else do they do this! Plus the salad! The choices of dressing is hard because they bring out this contraption that gives you choices of dressings! The food is excellent! The steaks to die for! If you are ever in Old Forge it is a must go!!
Needed more help. Very slow service. Got grilled chicken salad. Did not come as ordered and chicken was cold out of the fridge. On the bright side my husband got a burger and fries and said they were very good
Soup was good the Chicken Caesar salad I ordered was not. Chicken was ice cold and tasted like it was a week old.
Amazing food, you will love it, regardless of the price!
Food was spot on and the service was quick and friendly. Very welcoming environment!
Food was amazing, and the service was quick!!!
The veiws are incredible, the atmosphere is inviting, the staff are amazing, and the food is awesome. Wednesday and Saturdays is Prime Rib Night and it is awesome. I have pretty much had everything on the menu and have not had a bad experience yet.
So glad to see the Old Mill open again. Our server was great, very friendly. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Prices a little high - large soft pretzel $12. But the food is good.
